  • Will Presentation Training Help With My Presentation Skills?

Presentations are rampant in organizations where reports and information must be presented to senior members. They are also very standard in high-level sales pitches where the benefits and features of a product or service must be conveyed professionally, quickly and efficiently. Presentation training is one very effective way to hone a person’s presentation skills. This is incredibly important to the professional who must conduct presentations on a regular or semi-regular basis. It’s speculated that presentation training will benefit the person who must routinely, but rarely, conduct presentations as they do not get the chance to improve their abilities in a practical setting. But, what exactly is involved in presentation training? What aspects of presentation training actually help people, and how?

Presentation Training – Helpful To Any Aspiring Leader

A good leader must be able to convey their message effectively to a wide audience. Essentially, they must possess the ability to express to an audience what they’re doing, where they’re going, and how they’re going to get there. This involves presenting this information accurately, with a minimum of confusion, and addressing all concerns from the start – thus well-honed presentation skills will be very important to anyone in a leadership or management role.

Most People Don’t Understand What A Presentation Is Really About

The majority of people think a presentation is stating a bunch of informative tidbits and leaving it at that. What is missing from this scenario is the personal touch that makes a presentation really hit home. With effective presentation training candidates will learn how to take their message and refine it into a deliverable, memorable presentation that includes their own personal experiences and characteristics, bringing the best of themselves to the stage and platform. Presentations aren’t about data, they’re about people and the process of conveying a message effectively demands a personal touch. Droning on about facts, figures, and data bits will always bore people to death and reduce the impact of the presentation.

Communication Is More Than Just Words

A presentation is more than just public speaking. It’s body language, mannerisms, posture and the context in which the content is delivered. Learning how to understand and utilize these aspects of communication effectively during the delivery of a presentation is critical. A great presentation training course will definitely cover these aspects of presenting.

When it comes to the question; will presentation training help me with my presentation skills, the answer is a resounding yes! If you are seeking training because you feel you could improve your skills in this area then by all means you should pursue a course. There exist quite a few options for courses, both online and offline. Depending on where you stand in your knowledge of presentation you may want to go with an offline course as typically there is an instructor or mentor that can provide you with direct real-time feedback.

  • 5 Hidden Secrets To Write A Resume

Everyone that is trying to get a job right now knows that our economy is in shambles and has been since the beginning of the recession. Everyone is worried about money and finding a job is extremely limited right now. Becoming a college student can be even more bloodcurdling because not only would you have to face all the same challenges as everyone else, but you would also have to deal with not having any experiences which can be a huge problem when it comes down to writing a resume.

After years of bouncing from job to job and dealing with the low budget economy, I have realized the first step in getting hired ultimately comes down to being able to get a job interview in the first place. This can be done by learning how to write a resume, but not just any resume..a resume that will automatically attract employers and hiring managers and literally encourage them to interview you.

Seems too easy right? Well, not exactly!

Below is a list of FIVE Hidden Secrets on how to write a resume and land a job interview:

Learn How Hiring Managers/Employers Think: How would you persuade employers to interview you? How can you make yourself look like the best on paper so the employer will be convinced you are worth a job interview? Now this may seem tricky and it is, but you need to know exactly what the employer is thinking, what they are looking for and most importantly what they need for their business. You can do this by researching the company you would like to work for.

Write With Their Needs In Mind: If you give an employer what they want, they will most likely listen to you. Now what does every employer want in a resume? Each company is different so it is your job to figure out what they want and deliver those needs into your resume. Hiring managers generally ask themselves a few questions:

    • Who cares if you did a similar job 10 years ago, technology and companies have changed dramatically in the last few years.
    • So what if you were fired for no explanation, I want to see what you are good at as an employer.
    • What's in it for me if I hire you?

Hiring managers are looking over your resume for their own reasons, not yours. They could care less of what you want; they only care about what they want. Each employer, hiring manager are the same. Can you provide these answers? Consider this step a part of research also - this is an essential step on how to write a resume that in the end will nail your future employer's eyes to the page.

Select The Format That Gets Results: A study was shown that the best resume format you should use is using the Accomplishment Based Resume because it gets you an interview.

Learn How To Spice Up Your Accomplishments: This is where multiple 'non-writers' get stuck on and usually turn to a resume service Toronto. Instead try and learn how to write your resume with hypnotic text and learn how to build desire and emotion. Have your words paint a picture and tell a story of your previous successes. Real the employer in with benefits and curiosity and give them reasons or logic as to why they should consider interviewing you. When you are doing your research make sure you think what the hiring manager's emotional concerns are and talk to them in a way they cannot ignore. If you do this, it will make your resume look persuasive and hypnotic.

Below are a few examples of a sentence in a persuasive and hypnotic way:

    Before:

"Typed, cleaned, answered the phone, performed monthly reports"

    After:

"Performed monthly reports on ranking analysis for clients that required assistance every month. Assisted email responses, distribution and payroll import. Performed duties as a receptionist."

This is exactly how you would market yourself to the employers.

Learn Resume Design Principles: Having a resume design that is both simple and professional is crucial if you want your resume to stand out among the masses - it has actually been proven too. The true key is to make your resume look inviting and easy to read.

Use short paragraphs, bullet points and wide margins. Would you read a resume that is a solid block of text?..probably not. Make your resume attractive, no I am not saying get colourful paper with sparkles all over it - How you lay your resume out is a key factor how to write a resume which will actually make people like it even before they have read it.

Whether you use these secrets or not, you need to go through your resume with these pointers in mind because chances are your resume will be put in the shredder before even being looked at. Look for places to rewrite, reformat or any other way to grab the reader's attention. As you absorb this info you will see that a resume is not just a piece of paper used to convey your work experiences - It is actually a marketing tool used to promote yourself to get a job interview.

  • Checklist For Your Wedding Day

Sometimes planning a wedding can seem extremely daunting to most and everyone needs a little push to get your wedding plans sorted out. Below is a list of 9 things a bride needs to prepare for their big day.

    1. Schedule. This of course is the most important thing a bride should do. Create a schedule first, but make sure you distribute it to all of your guests at the bridal party, friends and family. Create a schedule, make it detailed, give it to everyone so they can review and post it everywhere.
    2. Attire. This is second on the list and is extremely important. Prepare all of your attire anything from dress, undergarments, makeup, jewellery, shoes, hair pieces, etc. Start from the top and end at the bottom so you are sure you have a full inventory of everything you will be wearing on that day.
    3. Music. Check and review all of the music, what are you going to play at the ceremony, your grand entrance and what is the DJ going to play during dinner and breaks? This may seem easy to you, but there are multiple things you need to choose from because the music will be changing through the whole day.
    4. Officiant and Photographer. Make sure you hire maybe a wedding officiant Hamilton and a Photographer because each of these people need to know months before about the wedding they will be participating in.
    5. Marriage Documents. Right after the ceremony you and 2 witnesses will have to sign marriage documents which will make the wedding legal, so do not forget to bring these documents.
    6. Speeches. Although you may be far from a writer, make sure you know everyone who will be giving a speech so that everyone is prepared.
    7. Wedding Shoes. This is listed separately because this is what you will be standing in all night. You may have already picked your shoes out already and they may be perfect, but you need to also think of comfort for your feet. Be sure you break them in, insert shoe pads or even buy an extra pair of slip-ons to change into at the end of the night.
    8. Cake. Maybe venues will provide utensils, glasses and other dishes, so you do not have to worry about that, but make sure you book your cake design a month before because most cases the cake company could not do that last minute.
    9. Flowers. Your florist will most likely handle this, but make sure you give them a list of everything you want and make sure you double check the freshness of the type of flowers you will be having.

As long as you have a wedding checklist to go by, you probably will not forget anything too extreme. Just remember to keep looking back at your checklist and even have friends/family look over for you, so you do not miss anything.

    Congratulations on your big day!

Would you not like to be able to advertise to over 500 million people every day about your product or service?

To put it in perspective, if you were to sell 1% of those 500 million people, you would have a sale from 50 million customers and that is just using the Facebook stats. A lot of people spend time online especially for shopping well simply because it is more convenient – you need to take advantage of this very well known fact.
